Since 1889, readers have relied on the Journal for accurate, objective information to educate and inspire readers. Tausch created a concept for the Wall Street Journal event at the Lions Festival in Cannes through Experience Marketing.

Concept

At Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Wall Street Journal is indispensable among the big names. The global event for people working in creative communications, advertising industry and advertising is considered the largest gathering of these sectors. Creative concept is an understatment when it comes to the design of Wall Street Journal. We supported Cheerful Twentyfirst Agency in the implementation of the concept.

Visualization

Agency Cheerful Twentyfirst realized the design for Wall Street Journal. In the design of the event, in addition to the house style colors black and white, natural earth tones are mainly used. Our role after the design process was to critically analyze whether the devised design was executable under the beach weather conditions. The humidity and wind were crucial during this analizing process. We do not want to be faced with surprises during the realization. Materials must be weatherproof and able to withstand high humidity and strong winds.

Realization

For the realization of this event, we mainly worked in night shifts in order not to disturb beach visitors and holidaymakers at the nearby harbor. The biggest challenges for the 10-person team were the high temperatures in the day shift, extremely strong winds at night (100 km/h per hour) and the high humidity. Daarom nemen we deze beslissingen mee in de materialisatie-keuzes van het design-proces. The highest standards must be met for Cannes Lions festival.
